Accepted applications for employment, 1921-1939.

This series consists of applications of persons accepted for employment in Alabama prisons and road camps as wardens, deputy wardens, physicians, guards, chaplains, road foremen, transfer agents, carpenters, and gardeners. Applications contain biographical data on applicant such as date and place of birth, marital status, number of children, previous occupation, physical condition, educational background, and political affiliation. These records were also created by the Board of Control and economy (1919-1923) and the Board of Convict Supervisors (1923).
